SilentAPI ("us", "we", or "our") operates the SilentAPI service (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service. Our fundamental principle is to collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our service, and to provide you with control over that information.
1. Information We Collect
We have engineered our systems to collect as little user data as possible.
- Account Information: To create an account, we require a username. You may optionally provide an email address for account recovery. We also store your hashed password, a unique account ID, and the account creation date. We do not, under any circumstances, log or store the IP address used for account creation.
- Usage Metrics (Opt-Out): By default, we collect minimal, privacy-focused usage metrics to help you monitor your usage and billing. This system is designed with user privacy in mind and **does not** store exact timings, latency, or the data you send or receive. You have full control over this data; you can manually delete specific data points at any time, or you can disable metrics collection entirely in your settings, which will permanently delete all historical usage data.
2. How We Use Information
The limited information we collect is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Maintain the Service: Your account information is used to authenticate you and provide access to the platform.
- For Billing and Monitoring: If you have metrics enabled, this data is used to calculate your usage and display it on your dashboard.
We do not use any user monitoring, behavior tracking, or analytics tools of any kind.
3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
- Firebase Authentication: We use Firebase Authentication service for secure account management. This service handles the authentication process, but we do not log or store any additional information provided by Firebase.
- API Proxying: When you use our service to access a third-party API, we act as a proxy. We anonymize your requests to the best of our ability, and the request to the end-service originates from our servers. We do not pass any user-identifying information to the end-service. However, these third-party services may have their own logging policies, which are outside of our control.
4. Cookies
We do not use cookies for analytics or user tracking. The only cookies used on our service are those essential for managing your authentication session, which are handled by Firebase Authentication.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We believe you should have full control over your data. When you make a change to your account (such as updating your username or email), we only store the current information; we do not retain a history of past data. This means we cannot revert changes or assist in recovery due to user error.
If you choose to delete your account, this action is processed almost immediately and is permanent. All of your account information is permanently erased from our systems. There is no way for us to recover a deleted account.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the minimal information we store, including hosting our infrastructure in secure, privacy-respecting jurisdictions. However, no online service is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
